Full course description
Accessibility is a cornerstone of equity in education. This three-part microlearning series is designed to empower adult education teachers with the knowledge and tools to ensure their programs and content are accessible to all learners, including individuals with disabilities. Participants will explore the essential guidelines and requirements of ADA Section 504, ADA Section 508, and WCAG 2.2, gaining practical insights to evaluate and enhance accessibility in both physical and digital environments.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this training, participants should be able to:
- Evaluate compliance of adult education programs and content with ADA Section 504 by understanding key guidelines ad examples of reasonable accommodations.
- Assess digital content and technology for compliance with ADA Section 508 to ensure accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
- Analyze web content for compliance with WCAG 2.2 guidelines to ensure it is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all learners.
